With wines regularly receiving scores from critics of 90 points and more, Freemark Abbey is an historic winery that continues to thrive. Along with critically acclaimed, award-winning Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon wines, Freemark Abbey produces a range of other reds and whites. This timeless, trusted, and celebrated winery recently unveiled a renovation of its Century-old, historic stone building that was originally finished in 1906.
The three year renovation includes a spiraling stairway that leads down to the Barrel Room with a group tasting area and an adjoining Wine Library. The renovation also includes a California-inspired Yakitori restaurant – Two Birds/One Stone – by celebrity chefs Douglas Keane, and Sang Yoon. The restaurant will feature the best of local, Napa Valley Wine Country produce, plus an incredible wine list created by Master Sommelier, Kevin Reilly.
It’s no surprise that Chefs Keane and Yoon will use local ingredients as much as possible since Freemark Abbey sources their grapes from select Napa Valley vineyards that they’ve used for decades. Their Director of Winemaking, Ted Edwards, began as winemaker in 1985 and continues to lead the Freemark Abbey team in the production of their incredible wines. To taste for yourself, Freemark Abbey offers a variety of tastings and experiences.
