Kosta Browne Winery produces some of Sonoma County’s most coveted Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, with wine available for purchase only by allocation. And don’t get those wine glasses out yet; just getting on the allocation list currently requires a two- to five-year wait.
Even tastings are hard to come by, held periodically at Kosta Browne’s luxury Sebastopol winery but limited to members by appointment only.
So it’s a VIP deal, indeed, for Hotel Healdsburg guests to be able to join the new “In Pursuit of Pinot Noir” package being offered in conjunction with the hotel’s Dry Creek Kitchen.
“In Pursuit of Pinot Noir” takes a deep dive into the making of Kosta Browne’s flagship wines. Hotel Healdsburg guests are taken to the winery, for a private tasting and tour of the Russian River Valley property. Then, they return to the hotel and Charlie Palmer’s Dry Creek Kitchen for a special tasting menu prepared by executive chef Scott Romano, featuring each course paired with Kosta Browne’s appellation and single vineyard wines.
The packages should sell out quickly, noted Circe Sher, partner in Piazza Hospitality, the developer and manager of Hotel Healdsburg. For the winery’s 20th Anniversary private gala this summer, for example, tickets sold out in two minutes, snatched up by members who flew in from all across the country.
Offered through December 30, 2017, “In Pursuit of Pinot Noir” pricing starts at $1,149 and includes luxurious two-night accommodations at the newly renovated Hotel Healdsburg, the reserve tour and tasting at Kosta Browne Winery, the Chef’s Tasting Menu at Dry Creek Kitchen paired with Kosta Browne wines, daily gourmet harvest breakfast, and hotel valet parking.
