Feeling the need for a recharge? Or maybe just a bit of pampering? And don’t forget the “manly” time, either. Many Wine Country spas offer specialty treatments for the well-groomed guy, like hot towel facial massage, deep muscle massage, and manicures. Here are some fine favorites to check out.
The Spa at Hotel Healdsburg
The luxury poolside space has been completely remodeled, bringing even more bliss to the six-room oasis surrounding in fragrant gardens. The new tropical-inspired pool lounge brims with white roses, fig trees, and Blushing Bride hydrangeas, as a meditation landscape perfect for settling back in deep chaise seating in the shade of the heritage olive grove. And should you get a bit peckish as you relax, a new, custom zinc and concrete pool bar offers spa (and non-spa) bites and cocktails catered in from Pizzando.

The Spa Gourmet
Husband-and-wife team Cindy Scott-Fuchs and Trip Fuchs turn a spa day into an overnight delight with this new company. First, they coordinate a location, such as a private, luxury rental home on Dillon Beach or in the Sonoma or Napa mountains. Then they set up a complete spa on-site – even a mountainside meadow or oceanfront plateau, if you like. Cindy customizes treatments, like Thai massage with hot stone therapy, warm foot wrap, and a mini facial of lavender infused steam, herbal cleanser, Indian clay mask and coconut oil massage. Meanwhile, Trip, a private chef, cooks a feast, ranging from hors d’oeuvres to a full supper.
Indian Springs Resort and Spa
Imagine a long soak in the geyser-fed Buddha Pond for meditation and serenity, then a warm mud bath/wrap in pure volcanic slurry, created with hot mineral geyser water mixed with mined on-site ash. Owners John and Pat Merchant have recently renovated this grand property built in 1910, including a new Olympic-sized, mineral swimming pool that’s fed from four onsite geysers, and soothes at 102 degrees in the winter and 92 degrees in the summer. Parts of the spa actually date back to the mid-1800’s, for renowned mud baths fed by onsite mineral waters and pure volcanic ash deposits from the eruption of Mt. Lincoln and Mt. Konocti thousands of years ago.

Senza
The space was formerly known as formerly La Residence, but the Hall family recently transformed it into a sophisticated new destination called Senza. The 18-suite Senza property boasts amenities like treatments within the spa, on on your private terrace, or in your suite. May we suggest the “Gifts from the Vine” packagem including a body buff, rose petal body butter/grape seed extract massage and wrap, and a lavender, rose, and honey enriched grape seed facial? 4066 Howard Lane, Napa
