Quivira Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley is committed to making the best wine possible using sustainable farming practices. As a certified Biodynamic property, one of their major goals is to maintain a healthy earth. Instead of synthetic fertilizers, compost and cover crops are used to add organic material that feeds the vines. Instead of chemicals, a “hoe plow” is used to control the in-row weeds.

Some of Quivira’s most recent awards include 3 Medals at the 2009 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition in February for BEST OF CLASS – 2006 Grenache, Wine Creek Ranch; GOLD – 2006 Petite Sirah, Wine Creek Ranch; and GOLD – 2006 Syrah, Wine Creek Ranch.

Quivira uses a 55kW solar electric system to supply 100% of their energy. Their water usage is greatly reduced by using a steam cleansing machine that uses 98% less water than traditional methods for barrel cleansing and soaking.

Quivira keeps honeybees on the property to pollinate the orchards and vegetables. Their raw, unfiltered honey is delicious and available for purchase.

Pure Luxury is thrilled to offer a visit to Quivira Vineyards as part of our Eco Tour of Biodynamic and Organic wineries in the Dry Creek Valley!
