The View from the Front Porch at Little Vineyards
Yesterday, Little Vineyards was the gracious host to the Sonoma Valley Vintners and Growers Alliance Mixer. Little Vineyards is a family winery focusing on providing visitors with a truly boutique winery experience. Their limited release estate wines are handcrafted in Sonoma Valley and the winery is easy to find.
After a short drive down a driveway off Highway 12, in the heart of Sonoma Valley, guests parked their cars and looked back to appreciate the view from the front porch of the tasting room. Once inside, friendly hosts from Sonoma Vintners and Growers, along with Joan and Rich Little, were ready with a warm welcome and a glass of chilled Little Vineyards’ Pinot Grigio. Little Vineyards specializes in red wines including Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Petite Sirah. This first release of their Pinot Grigio was crisp, light, and glistening with golden colors.
For tasty bites, guests had a choice to start with one of two options. The first, was a polenta with crimini mushrooms, marinara sauce, topped with grated parmesan cheese. The second, a selection of flavorful charcuterie.

At one tasting bar, attendees were invited to bring a bottle of wine to share with the crowd. At another tasting bar, more delicious Little Vineyards wines were being poured including the Band Blend, a blend of Syrah, Zinfandel, and Petite Sirah; a rich and complex 2011 Syrah; a lush 2011 Petite Sirah; and the Center Stage Blend, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.

The doors to the back patio opened up and the rays from the setting sun beautifully filled the tasting room. Guests stepped onto the back patio to enjoy their food, wine, and each other’s company while Rich Little and his band took center stage and played for the crowd.
