Ty Caton Vineyards has not only won over the hearts and palates of wine-lovers, but has also earned critical acclaim, and many Best of Class honors, in world renowned wine publications and competitions. Words often used to describe the red varietal Ty Caton wines include soft texture, lush, and velvety. This small, family-owned winery in Sonoma Valley’s Moon Mountain District, is one of the few exclusively estate producers in Sonoma Valley.
Originally a grapegrower, Ty Caton himself works as the winery’s C.E.O., C.O.O., and winemaker. His commitment to the stewardship of the land is reflected in his sustainably farmed 40 acre vineyard spread out over 108 acres. The estate vineyard is home to multiple blocks of healthy Cabernet Sauvignon, each distinct from the other. Also grown on the estate, are blocks of Merlot, Syrah, Petite Sirah, and Malbec. The best of these delicious grapes are used to create Ty Caton “Tytanium” – an award winning, estate, proprietary blend of all five grapes grown on the estate.
Ty Caton Tasting Room in Kenwood
Visitors to Ty Caton Vineyards will find wines that are bold, beautifully structured, and a true representation of the vineyards they come from. The tasting room in Kenwood is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Groups under 10 people may visit without an appointment. Guests to the tasting room in Kenwood experience Ty Caton Best of Class wines in a comfortable atmosphere, with an engaging staff that knows how to have fun! Private tastings by appointment are offered at the winery in Sonoma.
