A couple of weeks ago, Pure Luxury brought you a list of Winemaker Dinners happening this month. Today we wanted to let you know about wineries in Sonoma Valley, Sonoma County, and Napa Valley offering Wine and Food Pairings throughout the year.
Sonoma Valley
St. Francis Winery & Vineyards
The Wine and Food Pairing at St. Francis Winery & Vineyards by Executive Chef David Bush was recently awarded “Best Overall Restaurant,” “Best Food,” and “Best Ambiance” awards from OpenTable Diners. This seated pairing of small dishes and St. Francis Winery wines is hosted by one of St. Francis’ wine experts. The current menu begins with Roasted Baby Beet Salad paired with 2011 Chardonnay, Wild Oak, Sonoma Valley. The 2011, Chardonnay, Behler, Sonoma County is paired with Seared White Seabass. A delicious Potato Gnocchi in Piquillo Cream is served with 2009 Cabernet Franc, Sonoma Valley followed by Sichuan Style Slow Roasted Pork Shoulder and 2010 Zinfandel, Three Valleys, Sonoma County. This amazing experience ends with Seasonal Cheese & Fruit plus Chocolate Mascarpone Cheesecake served with 2010 Port Sonoma County.
Sonoma County
Chalk Hill Estate Vineyards & Winery
This beautiful and appetizing adventure at Chalk Hill begins with a brief walk through the vineyards followed by a visit to their Culinary Garden. Visitors will be seated at the Pavilion where they can experience a panoramic view of Chalk Hill Valley while delighting in a tasting of Chalk Hill wines paired with four small plates.
Kendall-Jackson
This seven course spectacular pairing created by Executive Chef Justin Wangler spotlight’s some of Kendall-Jackson’s Reserve and Limited Release wines. The pairing begins at the Kendall-Jackson Wine Center with Bruschetta and 2010 Grand Reserve Sauvignon Blanc. This is no average Bruschetta, this Bruschetta is made with Delice de la Vallee Cheese and Fava Leaf Pesto. The cheese balances the acidity in the wine while the Fava complements the wine creating a wonderful beginning to this experience. The next decadent pairing is 2010 Grand Reserve Chardonnay and Drakes Bay Oyster Chowder (New England style). A switch from white to red wines is made when the next course is served – 2011 Grand Reserve Pinot Noir with a dish featuring mushrooms and truffle cheese. The menu continues with perfect culinary pairings for Kendall-Jackson Syrah and Merlot before ending with two dessert dishes delectably paired with Riesling and Chardonnay.
